猶大自縊 Judas Hangs Himself

27:1 到了早晨，眾祭司長和民間的長老大家商議要治死耶穌，Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people came to the decision to put Jesus to death.

27:2 就把他捆綁，解去，交給巡撫彼拉多。They bound him, led him away and handed him over to Pilate, the governor.

27:3 這時候，賣耶穌的猶大看見耶穌已經定了罪，就後悔，把那三十塊錢拿回來給祭司長和長老，說： When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders.

27:4 「我賣了無辜之人的血是有罪了。」他們說：「那與我們有甚麼相干？你自己承當吧！」 “I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.” “What is that to us?” they replied. “That's your responsibility.”

27:5 猶大就把那銀錢丟在殿裡，出去吊死了。 So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.

27:6 祭司長拾起銀錢來，說：「這是血價，不可放在庫裡。」 The chief priests picked up the coins and said, “It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money.”

27:7 他們商議，就用那銀錢買了陶工的一塊田，為要埋葬外鄉人。So they decided to use the money to buy the potter's field as a burial place for foreigners.

27:8 所以那塊田直到今日還叫做「血田」。 That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day.

27:9 這就應驗了先知耶利米的話，說：「他們用那三十塊錢，就是被估定之人的價錢，是以色列人中所估定的，Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: “They took the thirty silver coins, the price set on him by the people of Israel,

27:10 買了窯戶的一塊田；這是照著主所吩咐我的。」 and they used them to buy the potter's field, as the Lord commanded me.” (See Zech. 11:12,13; Jer. 19:1-13; 32:6-9.)

耶穌在彼拉多面前 Jesus Before Pilate

27:11 耶穌站在巡撫彼拉多面前；巡撫問他說：「你是猶太人的王嗎？」耶穌說：「你說的是。」 Meanwhile Jesus stood before Pilate the governor, and the governor asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?” “Yes, it is as you say,” Jesus replied.

27:12 他被祭司長和長老控告的時候，甚麼都不回答。When he was accused by the chief priests and the elders, he gave no answer.

27:13 彼拉多就對他說：「他們作見證告你這麼多的事，你沒有聽見嗎？」 Then Pilate asked him, “Don't you hear the testimony they are bringing against you?”

27:14 耶穌仍不回答，連一句話也不說，以致巡撫甚覺希奇。 But Jesus made no reply, not even to a single charge— to the great amazement of the governor.

27:15 巡撫有一個常例，每逢這節期，隨眾人所要的釋放一個囚犯給他們。 Now it was the governor's custom at the Feast to release a prisoner chosen by the crowd.

27:16 當時有一個出名的囚犯叫巴拉巴。At that time they had a notorious prisoner, called Barabbas.

27:17 眾人聚集的時候，彼拉多就對他們說：「你們要我釋放哪一個給你們？是巴拉巴呢？是稱為基督的耶穌呢？』 So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”

27:18 巡撫原知道他們是因為嫉妒才把他解了來。 For he knew it was out of envy that they had handed Jesus over to him.

27:19 正坐堂的時候，他的夫人打發人來說：「這義人的事，你一點不可管，因為我今天在夢中為他受了許多的苦。」 While Pilate was sitting on the judge's seat, his wife sent him this message: “Don't have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.”

27:20 祭司長和長老挑唆眾人，求釋放巴拉巴，除滅耶穌。 But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed.

27:21 巡撫對眾人說：「這兩個人，你們要我釋放哪一個給你們呢？」他們說：「巴拉巴。」 “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they answered.

27:22 彼拉多說：「這樣，那稱為基督的耶穌我怎麼辦他呢？」他們都說：「把他釘十字架！」 “What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify him!”

27:23 巡撫說：「為甚麼呢？他做了甚麼惡事呢？」他們便極力地喊著說：「把他釘十字架！」 “Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!”

27:24 彼拉多見說也無濟於事，反要生亂，就拿水在眾人面前洗手，說：「流這義人的血，罪不在我，你們承當吧。」 When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. “I am innocent of this man's blood,” he said. “It is your responsibility!”

27:25 眾人都回答說：「他的血歸到我們和我們的子孫身上。」 All the people answered, “Let his blood be on us and on our children!”

兵丁戲弄耶穌 the Soldiers Mock Jesus

27:26 於是彼拉多釋放巴拉巴給他們，把耶穌鞭打了，交給人釘十字架。Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.

27:27 巡撫的兵就把耶穌帶進衙門，叫全營的兵都聚集在他那裡。Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. 【the Praetorium --總督府】

27:28 他們給他脫了衣服，穿上一件朱紅色袍子，They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him,

27:29 用荊棘編做冠冕，戴在他頭上，拿一根葦子放在他右手裡，跪在他面前，戲弄他，說：「恭喜，猶太人的王啊！」 and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand and knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said.

27:30 又吐唾沫在他臉上，拿葦子打他的頭。They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again.

27:31 戲弄完了，就給他脫了袍子，仍穿上他自己的衣服，帶他出去，要釘十字架。After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him.

釘十字架 The Crucifixion

27:32 他們出來的時候，遇見一個古利奈人，名叫西門，就勉強他同去，好背著耶穌的十字架。As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross.

27:33 到了一個地方名叫各各他，意思就是「髑髏地」。 They came to a place called Golgotha (which means The Place of the Skull).

27:34 兵丁拿苦膽(總督府)調和的酒給耶穌喝。他嘗了，就不肯喝。 There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, he refused to drink it.

27:35 他們既將他釘在十字架上，就拈鬮分他的衣服，When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots.【A few late manuscripts lots that the word spoken by the prophet might be fulfilled: “They divided my garments among themselves and cast lots for my clothing.”--為要應驗先知所說的話：「他們分了我的外衣，為我的外衣拈鬮。」 (Psalm 22:18)】

27:36 又坐在那裡看守他。And sitting down, they kept watch over him there.

27:37 在他頭以上安一個牌子，寫著他的罪狀，說：「這是猶太人的王耶穌。」 Above his head they placed the written charge against him: “THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

27:38 當時，有兩個強盜和他同釘十字架，一個在右邊，一個在左邊。Two robbers were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left.

27:39 從那裡經過的人譏誚他，搖著頭，說：Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads

27:40 「你這拆毀聖殿、三日又建造起來的，可以救自己吧！你如果是神的兒子，就從十字架上下來吧！」and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!”

27:41 祭司長和文士並長老也是這樣戲弄他，說：In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him.

27:42 「他救了別人，不能救自己。他是以色列的王，現在可以從十字架上下來，我們就信他。“He saved others,” they said, “but he can't save himself! He's the King of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him.

27:43 他倚靠神，神若喜悅他，現在可以救他；因為他曾說：『我是神的兒子。』」 He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’ “

27:44 那和他同釘的強盜也是這樣的譏誚他。In the same way the robbers who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him.

耶穌的死 The Death of Jesus

27:45 從午正到申初，遍地都黑暗了。 From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.

27:46 約在申初，耶穌大聲喊著說：「以利！以利！拉馬撒巴各大尼？」就是說：「我的神！我的神！為甚麼離棄我？」About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, (Some manuscripts Eli, Eli) lama sabachthani?”—which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Psalm 22:1)

27:47 站在那裡的人，有的聽見就說：「這個人呼叫以利亞呢！」When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He's calling Elijah.”

27:48 內中有一個人趕緊跑去，拿海絨蘸滿了醋，綁在葦子上，送給他喝。Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink.

27:49 其餘的人說：「且等著，看以利亞來救他不來。」 The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to save him.”

27:50 耶穌又大聲喊叫，氣就斷了。And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.

27:51 忽然，殿裡的幔子從上到下裂為兩半，地也震動，磐石也崩裂， At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split.

27:52 墳墓也開了，已睡聖徒的身體多有起來的。The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.

27:53 到耶穌復活以後，他們從墳墓裡出來，進了聖城，向許多人顯現。 They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

27:54 百夫長和一同看守耶穌的人看見地震並所經歷的事，就極其害怕，說：「這真是　神的兒子了！」When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son (Or a son) of God!”

27:55 有好些婦女在那裡，遠遠地觀看；她們是從加利利跟隨耶穌來服事他的。Many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to care for his needs.

27:56 內中有抹大拉的馬利亞，又有雅各和約西的母親馬利亞，並有西庇太兩個兒子的母親。Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's sons.

27:57 到了晚上，有一個財主，名叫約瑟，是亞利馬太來的，他也是耶穌的門徒。 As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus.

27:58 這人去見彼拉多，求耶穌的身體；彼拉多就吩咐給他。 Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus' body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him.

27:59 約瑟取了身體，用乾淨細麻布裹好， Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

27:60 安放在自己的新墳墓裡，就是他鑿在磐石裡的。他又把大石頭滾到墓門口，就去了。 and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away.

27:61 有抹大拉的馬利亞和那個馬利亞在那裡，對著墳墓坐著。Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb.

27:62 次日，就是預備日的第二天，祭司長和法利賽人聚集來見彼拉多，說： The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate.

27:63 「大人，我們記得那誘惑人的還活著的時候曾說：『三日後我要復活。』 “Sir,” they said, “we remember that while he was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’

27:64 因此，請吩咐人將墳墓把守妥當，直到第三日，恐怕他的門徒來，把他偷了去，就告訴百姓說：『他從死裡復活了。』這樣，那後來的迷惑比先前的更利害了！」 So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Otherwise, his disciples may come and steal the body and tell the people that ‘he has been raised from the dead.’ This last deception will be worse than the first.” 【deception--欺騙】

27:65 彼拉多說：「你們有看守的兵，去吧！盡你們所能的把守妥當。」 “Take a guard,” Pilate answered. “Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.”

27:66 他們就帶著看守的兵同去，封了石頭，將墳墓把守妥當。 So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard.
